Joyce has been teaching Beginning and Intermediate bridge for years! Joyce has served on the Unit 174 Board as I/N (Intermediate & Newcomer) Coordinator.
Currently, Joyce is actively involved with the launch of the new Bridge Academy of West Houston. Joyce has had significant influence in making sure that the newest bridge players -- students & 99ers -- are welcome in the club.
Joyce is assisted by Ann Harvey who is also ACBL and Better Bridge certified. They are a dynamic duo!

Competitive Bidding: This class covers the information needed when both partnerships are bidding during the auction. Players want to get to the best contract but also want to make it difficult for the opponents to reach their best spot. This class introduces innovative methods of hand valuation and the bids that experts use in competitive situations. Preemptive bids, take out doubles and advances, overcalls and advancing the overcall are taught. Textbook is Bridge Basics 2 from Amazon by Audrey Grant. $15 if needed. Cost: $100 for 6 weeks of classes. Must have 8 students to make.
